Piston Rod with Piston

Considered to be an integral part of an engine, hard chrome plated piston rod connects the crankshaft of the engine with the piston. It acts like a lever arm that transmits the tensile and compressive force from the piston by rotating at both the ends. To ensure that it lasts long enough, it is made with sturdy metals and processed with hard chrome plating to give extra strength to the piston rod.  This hard chrome plating is done through electroplating so as to increase the hardness while also being corrosion resistant.
